This walkthrough does not contain detailed instructions for shadow geysers, that will be done in another section called Geyser Guide, I won't put up boring controls or "how to get started" stuff either, that's all in the manual.

This walkthrough is only for finishing the game fast. Secrets are not in the walkthrough itself. If you want to use my walkthrough or anything else on my site, contact me, link to me and give this site credit for writing it, because I did, after all.

Naroom

When you start the game, you're in Tavel Gorge. You're being pushed around by other kids, and have to get the crystal out of the cave to get them to leave you alone. The crystal in the cave's not that hard to find, and once you do, you get to watch a little story unfold. Once you go through that, follow Eidon to Vash Naroom.

First, you need to see Orwin in the north-east corner of town. He tells you some stuff and directs you the ringsmith, Pruitt. Go there and she'll make you your first creature: Furok. Then, go talk to the historian, Evu, he mumbles about jellybeans. Go see Poad, the innkeeper and he'll give you the jellybeans, go back to Evu and give them to him.

Now you get your first spell, Leaf Cut! It's relatively useless but you might want to use it if there's nothing else you can do in battle.

Leave town, and you'll see Orwin scolding Eidon. Now Eidon will take you to the training grounds. I suggest you fight Salafy once or twice to get the hang of battles, and talk to Yaki if you're unsure of anything.

When you try to leave, a quake will start. Head out of town and east to the forest glade, listen to what the villagers tell you about where Orwin went, while you're here I suggest you fight some Weebos and/or Twees and get at least one of them onto your team.

Once you have your Furok and another creature up a few levels, go to where Orwin went, and you'll see the first Shadow Geyser. Korg and Zet will appear, and you'll have to fight Korg. After you beat him, Eidon will take Orwin back to town.

Southeast of the seer's house on the overworld there is a forest. There are some stronger creatures here, and you should get yourself one or two. The direct path out is just going left until you see a path down, and that takes you out, there are some items in other parts of the forest but they're not fundamental to your success so they won't be mentioned.

Get out of the forest and head down to a winding path, while you go through an old woman will verbally harrass you with stereotypist and retarded comments. Once you get to the other side, head into the hut, and you see... Eidon! Talk to him, then go meet Gia... she's the old woman from before! Gia will give you the Core Glyph and call you Kyros and all that stuff, once you get the Glyph head back to the glade, and this time you can enter the geyser.

For the easiest way of beating this geyser, all you need to do is go south of Vash Naroom where you first appeared and get some Leaf Chogo animite and make one- they're much stronger than Twees.

The first geyser is very easy, you just pull the switches and a wall lowers, keep going till you meet Togoth. At this point your creatures should be around level 10.

After the first geyser crumbles, you'll see a shadowy figure move by. Try to follow him but all you get is a treasure chest with Crystal Blades.

Go west of Vash and you'll come to a little forest. Go up, and press A to kick the blocks away, continue on to the seer's house, open the chest and he'll appear and mumble some gibberish. Now after another little scene and finding out about Cloud Frond, it's time to go to Gia's house.

On your way to Gia's house, you'll meet a guy named Wence who is being attacked by a BlackAgovo, defeat it, and he will thank you. Now if you want you can go to the north of the forest and rest/save.

Take the blades to Gia and she'll tell you that Eidon will make them into Digging Gloves. Get him to do that, and after a little more training, you'll be ready to go to the Underneath.

The Underneath

Now go north of Gia's house and into the big mouth thingy. This is the path to the Underneath, and the fastest way to get through here is after digging up that first patch of dirt, only dig in one more, which has 6 blocks together, 2 up/down, 3 left/right.

While you're here do some training and get some of the items, collect some Infused Animite because you're gonna get to make some new creatures soon.

Once you get out of the cave, head south-east to the town. Talk to the people and you'll find out that Gruk can't sleep because of the strange noises in her basement. But wait... the shop and ringsmith aren't in town?? They're north of the town, in the Prospector's Garage. It would be a good idea to get a Tusk Bwisp and either a Bisiwog or a CaveRudwot (Burrow skill) Just like the ringsmith suggests, you should train a new creature outside a bit. Try to match up your creature with another one of the same, you get more EXP that way. Also in town there is Scrub the Brub, which is a much faster way of earning tickets than Avoid the Agovos. You should get some tickets to buy Blast Urns from Naroom's Curio Shop because there are more than a few secrets in the game that require the use of a Blast Urn, and a few shortcuts will require you to use it too.

Now once you've got yourself some new creatures exit the town from the east, and you'll be in another cave. Follow the main path till you come to some stairs which lead down to a bomb shelter. From the bomb shelter go south-west until you hit a place where you can go up a screen. Go up a few screens and you should be at Gruk's mushroom farm.

While you inspect the basement, Korg and Zet kidnap Gruk, and when you get back to town they'll make some ridiculous demands. Now watch the stupid Gogor (who reminds me of Mr.Satan/Hercule from DBZ) go after them. Follow the buffoon north, and go through a fairly straightforward cave and he'll do his macho stuff and save Gruk. On the way back, you can simply go south and kick away the blocks instead of going through the entire cave puzzle if you want. Go back to town once again and... another earthquake will start.

Follow the villagers to where Gruk's farm was, and a Shadow Geyser is there!

Gogor charges into the geyser and gets himself hurt, so go into it. This one is tougher than the last, you need to find the 4 wells and go down them, and activate the switches to take down the walls that block the way into the core of the geyser. Also the spells Thunderquake and Cave In are in here so if you want them, find them because once you beat the geyser you can't get them anymore.

Get the stone from the core of the geyser, and Ogar will appear. Her Chaos Jiles will cause you some trouble unless you're well above level 18, and I swear I will rip apart the next person that calls her Mugh.

Go back to town now and you'll find that Morag, the weird guy from the first geyser who disappeared fast, has trashed the place. You won't be able to defeat him, so don't even try. Wence, the guy you saved from the BlackAgovo in Naroom saves you this time. He takes you back to his house in Naroom where you rest. Now return to Gia's house again, and after a long boring talk, when you try to leave, Morag will appear and take you to Cald. Note that there is some stuff in the Underneath that is linked to Ormagon that you only have this one chance of starting, so if you want to go Ormagon Hunting don't go to Gia's house just yet, go back to the ruined town in the Underneath.

Cald

Ok, whenever you're ready go to Gia's house and then you'll get dragged to Cald by Morag - you should thank him, there's no other way for you to get there right now.

He'll leave when the villagers come and they'll blame you for creating the geyser, then they'll blame you for creating it.

When you look around you'll notice that Shadow Magi are destroying the town. So, help them out, even though they were mean to you. After you beat all the Shadow Magi, you're told to go see Valkan, the master bridge builder. Talk to him and he'll say you need an Lava Arboll.

On the overworld, go north of his house and you'll see a crack that looks sorta like the Core Entrance. Go in and you'll be in a cave. From here, start some battles, and note that Lava Arboll are never the first creatures out- they usually follow Arbolits.

Get 1 animite of Lava Arboll and go back to town and make one of them. Note that if this your second time through the game via secret start, you still have to make one, why, do you ask? Because creating a Lava Arboll is what triggers the switch in the game that makes Valkan follow you to the bridge, having one doesn't.

Now, when the Lava Arboll is making the bridge, the bridge ends up breaking.

Watch as Tony is about to go off to the elder but Valkan begs him not to. Valkan tells Tony to go to Orothe and get Agadon's Boots in order to jump across.

Head into the cave east of Valkan's house. This cave is also confusing, and I sort of stumbled around it myself so I can't really give you any directions, just try to head north-east at first, then south-west, and somewhere you can go up a screen to get to the docks.

At the docks, the guy will require you 300 animite to take a trip, so I suggest you buy gems (for 5) and sell them back (for 18) until you get 900 animite, which is how much you'll be needing.

Take his offer and let him take you to Orothe. If you don't pay him 300 to wait for you, you'll have to pay 600 in the future, and you'll have to come back by raft, which means you'll miss out on the Ormagon hunt (if you're looking for it).

Now, go in and check the rightmost bookshelf and it'll open up some stairs. Also, press A in front of the bed to rest and save your game. Once that's taken care of, head down. Look around, there's some algae down here that's linked to Ormagon. The vault is east of the entrance, so go east as much as you can if you're not interested in the other items around this cave. (There are several Waters of Life, so you should grab those). There's also some algae that you'll need if you're Ormagon-hunting.

Get to the vault and have your little conversation with Blu, the guy who's guarding it. Open the vault and grab the boots. Now when you go back, take the ferry back to cald, if you didn't pay the guy, you'll have to talk to the old man that's there, then talk to Orlon (the person near the hut).

When you get back, it will be easier to get out of the cave. Just enter, and head north till you see a stream of lava. With your new boots, jump over, and head south-west, back to Cald.

You should give back the key before beating the 3rd geyser cus if you don't they won't talk to you, and the main thing, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET NEW CREATURE RINGS!! So you should head to the north-west cave on the world, which will lead you back to Naroom if you jump over the first lava stream up north in the cave.

Go back to the Weave and open the door which is near there, there are some items that you can get by unlocking the doors. Make sure the last place you saved is somewhere in Cald so the eldritch awl will take you back there (I'm not sure, maybe it won't since you entered several paths/caves)

Now, when you feel you're ready, go to the 3rd geyser. This one will take some strategizing, get rid of the lava in it, go down, kick blocks around to make a jumping path, get the lava back, jump with the block path you made, and then repeat.

Along the way, a weird Shadow Magi named Warrada will creep up on you. She summons a single creature and when you beat it... I don't know, it looks like she's dancing or something?? Anyway, press a button to end the battle and she'll give you a boring lecture. Continue on, and find the Core Stone, and when you pick it up you will fight Korremar, he's pretty easy since all he uses are Core Grags.

When you exit the geyser, if you haven't put it back yet, you have one final chance to return the key. Now save at the inn, and talk to the elder. You'll watch a boring stage show, and then Morag appears. If you select Fight, Eryn and Karyn will end up like Valkan, the only thing that matters is if you pick Run they'll survive and later if you talk to one of then in Vash Naroom you'll get a Spice of Life.

Now you'll be take to the Shadow Hold. Instructions for getting the Cloud Frond will be in the Geyser Guide, since the battles are random like in the geyser.

Here's how to get out quickly: walk around your cell, press A on the walls for while till a guy busts you out. Go east and get your stuff back. Keep going east till you hit switch. Press it, then go back and west past your cell. Follow the path until you reach a bridge. Go to the end and look down, and sit back and watch the little scene.

Orothe

Blu will take you to his hometown of Oscent Mar. They're... on giant parathins. Blu will give you one so you can ride around the Orothe overworld. If you want to get back to the other places, take the cave in the southwest, it will take you back to the place with the vault where you got Agadon's Boots.

Go to the west, and you'll see some buildings (on the overworld). Go in, it's the Orothe Ruins. Get the treasures around here, and there is also the Entangle spell and a blurry scroll. Take the scroll to the historian and you'll get Dispel X. Now head north to the Shadow Geyser and get rid of the forcefield with Dispel X.

This Geyser isn't too tough, you just have to try over and over again to get it to work properly. Fall into the different swirly things, activate switch, until you've gotten below the center, then you do it one more time and you fight Warrada again.

If you feel strong enough, refuse her offer and you can fight her now. If you don't feel strong enough, accept her offer and you won't have to fight her till the next Shadow Geyser.

Once you win/accept offer, the geyser crumbles. Now take the southwest cave back to the hut. Eidon will come and take you back to Orwin where Gia will give you a very, very, VERY boring lecture.

Head to the Core Entrance, and you will get a false return home, where you fight Korg and Zet. Korg's not too hard, but as for Zet you should have at leats one of the secret creatures mentioned in the Secrets section of this site.

Next, the same guy who helped you out in the Shadowhold and one of his buddies will take you to Arderial.

Arderial and The Core

You're almost at the end of the game now. As soon as you're taken to Arderial you get to watch Agram's goons blow up the palace (well, not blow up, invade)

If you want to get back to Vash Naroom, and the rest of the world, use the stone circle in the south of the Arderial world.

Now, this place is fairly straightforward, there's nothing much to do... get to the geyser...

In the geyser get as many keys as you can but save 2 if you want to be able to do the secret start (see Secrets section of this page)

The pipelines' direction can be changed with the switches on the ground. If you didn't fight Warrada in the fourth geyser you will have to near the end of this one. Now you get to fight Morag, although this time his Energy is low enough for you to get an easy win, unlike the 64000 he had in the Underneath making it impossible to win...

Beat him, and go back to Naroom and to the Core Entrance again. It will open, and you'll see a whole bunch of people turned to stone. Go through the straightforward and fight Agram. He's REALLY easy, if you ask me they should just have made you fight Salafy's turbocharged Weebo team (go and fight Salafy after the 5th geyser if you don't know what I'm talking about)

That's it! You did it! You beat the game!

Give yourself a pat on the back, and put the game aside now, your eyes are probably tired. Sorry, my mom made me type that.
